IB036: Weatherproofing of projections through metal roof surfaces
This week the Building Commission released an industry bulletin regarding the installation of pipes ducts and chimneys in steel roofs. It is quite common to see exhaust fan flues installed incorrectly, relying solely on the silicon to divert and shed water away from the penetration. Hopefully this will make people aware of the correct way to waterproof penetrations and give a better result.
